Questions

Before you rip

The answers collectors ask us most. Something we didn't cover? Reach out.

Do I get cash or Store Credit?

Buyback values are paid as Store Credit, issued in store on the spot, or by email for mail-in submissions. Credit spends like cash on anything at shopwithheadline.com or in The Locker.

Does the card have to be in perfect condition?

The card has to be pulled whole and unaltered, with no rips, trims, or damage from opening. Normal factory surface variance is fine. If a card arrives damaged from shipping on a mail-in, we'll contact you before doing anything.

Which cards actually qualify?

Only the designated MVP player's cards from the qualifying product for each sport: base, refractors and serial-numbered parallels. Chrome Black and Sapphire editions and unstamped prior-year cards are excluded. Check the sport tabs above for the exact player and product.

Can I redeem more than one card?

Yes. Each eligible card you pull qualifies at its tier value. Per-customer redemption limits may apply under Topps' program rules; if you hit one, we'll tell you before you commit.

How long do the programs run?

Each sport runs its own limited window, typically around three months from product release. The UFC program ended September 1, 2026. When a window closes, cards from that program can no longer be redeemed, so don't sit on one.

Do I get my card back after redeeming?

No. Redeeming is a buyback. You trade the card for the credit, and the card stays with the program. If your card is worth more than the buyback value on the open market, you're always free to keep or sell it instead.

How should I ship a mail-in submission?

Sleeve the card, put it in a top loader or card saver, and ship it in a rigid mailer with the completed submission form. Use tracked (ideally insured) shipping. Cards in transit are your responsibility until they reach us.

Program terms

The Topps MVP Buyback is a program operated by Topps/Fanatics and honored at participating hobby shops, including Headline. Buyback values are paid exclusively as Store Credit and cannot be redeemed for cash. Cards must be pulled intact from qualifying hobby products purchased during the program window. Ripped, trimmed, altered, or damaged cards do not qualify. Chrome Black and Sapphire editions, unstamped prior-year cards, and other excluded lines do not qualify. Redemption limits per customer may apply. Programs run for a limited window per sport and end on the date announced by Topps (the UFC program ended September 1, 2026). Mail-in submissions must include a completed Headline MVP Buyback submission form; cards mailed without tracking are the sender's responsibility, and redeemed cards are not returned. Headline reserves the right to verify authenticity and condition of every card before issuing credit. Program terms may change if Topps/Fanatics updates official program rules.
